WiFi, not Bluetooth

A WiFi bulb connects to your router and can be used with Alexa or Google Assistant if the listing says so. Bluetooth bulbs connect to your phone directly. Read the listing for the word WiFi.

2.4GHz WiFi

Most smart bulbs listed here connect to 2.4GHz WiFi. If setup fails, check that your phone is on the 2.4GHz network during pairing. Check the setup instructions on the product page for your bulb.

Stick to one brand and app

If you buy several bulbs, buying them from the same brand keeps them in one app, so you can group and schedule them together.

Check the warranty
